Below is the memo that just came out today...a "reminder" ....Now something about the insinuated tone of this email touched me as a parent talking to a child..Reminding us all that a ficticious "Foot Police" was watching just in case we break the rule and further reminding us that there are several people who need to get a life and stop worring about what other people are and arent wearing.
Now I understand there are basic rules in any job . But to treat us like were still in grade school and remind us those pesky "tattle tales" are still alive and thriving in the adult world is complely irritating to me. I do think that theres a way to dress classy with open toed shoes and if they dont warn us about how much cleavage we show or how tight our pants are then why should our toes showing be a problem ?
Not to mention the fact that the dress code at my place of work varies by department . So some departments dont have to wear panty hose ever and some do and some can wear crop pants and some cant.. We all work at the same place in the same building so shouldnt this dress code be across the board for everyone ? What sense does it make to say your not being professional in this department if you dont wear panty hose but other departments ladys are even if they dont have panty hose on or cropped pants bussiness suits?
This message is coming out to everyone to remind the females of blah blah blah that April 1st starts the "No Pantyhose" period. Please read #5 for the guidelines. I am attaching the complete Dress Code for everyone to refresh their memory on as to what is allowed and not allowed and when. Should you have any questions, please talk to your immediate Supervisor.
*Blah blah blah Departmental Dress Code approved by all blah blah blah Supervisors and Manager:
1. Jeans ARE NOT acceptable on any day unless authorized by the Departmental Manager on special occasions. When they are worn, they must be appropriate for the workplace (not faded, "holey", etc.). Approved Jean Day is the last Business day of the month.
2. No tee shirts (not even the blah blah blah tee shirts - polo shirts/knit shirts with collars are okay). Regardless of what type of shirt is worn, it must be tucked into your skirt/pants unless it is designed to be worn over the skirt/pants.
3. Sandals (with a back strap) and "slides" may be worn; however they must be worn with pantyhose or socks. NO sneakers or tennis shoes are acceptable unless approval given by Manager/Supervisors.
4.
at all times. These guidelines are fairly flexible so that you have the option of choosing between the professional business and professional casual any day of the week.
Please consider the above guidelines and professional appearance when choosing your daily dress. Because we work on blah blah blah and do not have direct customer contact is not an excuse to dress inappropriately. We need to remember that we representblah blah blahand dress in a professional and business-like manner that reflects well on theblah blah
The dress code was created for theblah blahDepartment and we need to be aware that people notice conformity (or nonconformity) with the code.
